Gas Efficiency Program for Con Edison Commercial Customers - $3,000,000 Available
Who is Eligible?
Eligible participants are defined as nonresidential Con Edison gas service customers paying the Monthly Rate Adjustment (MRA).
What this Program Offers
The Gas Efficiency Program for Con Edison Commercial Customers helps eligible participants manage their gas costs and operate their facilities more productively and efficiently.
Assistance to Identify Energy Efficiency Opportunities
For small businesses and other facilities with annual electric charges of $75,000 or less
For larger facilities or more complex analyses, NYSERDA will cost share gas-energy related studies on a 50/50 basis.
Eligible participant may apply to either of the following programs:
- The FlexTech Program provides a list of pre-qualified consultants to perform energy efficiency improvement studies. In this program, the customer and NYSERDA each pay the FlexTech consultant 50% of the study cost.
- The New York Energy $martSM Technical Assistance Program allows customers to select their own contractor to perform energy efficiency improvements studies. The customer pays the contractor and is reimbursed by NYSERDA up to 50% of the study cost.
Financial Incentives to Implement Projects
- The Existing Facilities Program provides prescriptive, custom, and performance-based incentives for implementing gas-efficiency measures. This program offers several strategies to obtain financial incentives for projects through a three-tiered solicitation. The first tier, formally the Smart Equipment Choices Program, offers eligible customers financial incentives for the purchase and installation of pre-qualified energy efficiency measures. The second tier offers eligible customers financial incentives for energy efficiency improvements based upon a technical engineering analysis. The third tier offers contractors performance-based incentives for pre-qualified gas equipment.
- The New Construction Program (NCP) can provide assistance to incorporate gas-efficiency measures into the design, construction, and operation of new and substantially renovated buildings. These measures are designed to save energy and therefore reduce building operating costs.
- The New York Energy $martSM Loan Fund Program buys down the interest rate by 6.5% on loans for energy efficiency gas improvement projects. Eligible participants work with participating lenders to receive loans to purchase energy- efficient equipment.
